Lucky

Here is little Lucky. A few months after Gunner was found, one of my teachers ran up to me (at the same college) with a little towel in her hand. She asked me if I could care for another kitten, and I said sure! I looked at the little guy, and he was cold to the touch and was still covered in what I call birthing goo.

Gunner

And this is where it all begins.

One beautiful spring day, I was leaving the little college I went to, and was walking up to my car....when I looked down at the ground and behind my rear tire was a little fluffy black thing. At first I thought it was a little stuffed animal or something, but upon closer inspection....it was a KITTEN!! He didn't even have his eyes open, and his ears were glued to his head still. He fit in the palm of my hand. I looked around for a concerned mama cat, but saw nothing. I'm not sure what happened to her, but this little guy wasn't going to make it long without her.

With the guidance of a good friend of mine, I learned how to bottle-feed, stimulate, and care for the little guy, and the madness began!!

A Purrfect Introduction

Hello! My name is Stephanie, and here is my awkward introduction. Aren't these always awkward? It always seems strange to explain who you are to a computer. Teehee :)

Well I have created this blog as a guide for others on how to foster kittens, raise kittens, and also as a log for myself so I can remember all the kitties that I fostered and their little quirks, and also to grieve the loss of a kitty if it does happen.

I have been fostering for about 3-4 years as of this post, and it is so rewarding watching them grow and watching their personalities emerge. But at the same time, if one doesn't make it, it is heartbreaking, but you know in your heart that you did everything you could.

I have had all sorts of situations with my kitties and want to share them with other fosters so that they know they aren't alone in this, although sometimes you feel you are. (Especially when you are waking up for 2am feedings and have four kittens screaming at you to feed them!)

I am here for you if you need advice, consoling, or just entertainment!
