Lucky

Here is little Lucky. A few months after Gunner was found, one of my teachers ran up to me (at the same college) with a little towel in her hand. She asked me if I could care for another kitten, and I said sure! I looked at the little guy, and he was cold to the touch and was still covered in what I call birthing goo.

Since I had no other heat source to warm this little guy up, I started my car and opened the hood, I held him over the engine, and let the air around him warm up while I rubbed him and helped him get his body temp up. To this day I am still shocked that he made it after being so cold.

My teacher explained to me that when she got out of her car, she heard him screaming, and knew to bring him to me. I am so glad she did, because I don't know what happened to the mother, but this little guy would not have made it.

I took the day off of school to get him cleaned up and fed. I remembered how crazy hectic it was raising Gunner while in school, but was still willing. Jenny on the other hand could not do it again. So I talked to my good friend and she pointed me in the direction of MeoowzResq. Learning about that rescue has changed my life so much. The instant I called them with the news that I have a kitten that I just can't care for because of school, they gave me an address and told me to drop him off at this other fosters house. I dropped him off with this wonderfully nice lady that had other kittens the same age that he could grow up with. She had named him Lucky for his extreme luck in making it through with the circumstances he was born into.

This little guy grew up to be a beautiful shiny boy, and was adopted out to a loving family thanks to MeoowzResq.
